Job Description

Kings High, Warwick (a leading independent school graded excellent in recent ISI inspections) are seeking to recruit good graduates, including those looking to change career, to train as secondary school mathematics teachers.

This year long, entirely school based training, leading to the award of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a PGCE, will take place on the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation Campus with placements available at both local state and independent schools.

Kings High, Warwick has a long and successful record of inspiring students to study Physics, facilitating the achievement of high academic results and filling students with a love of science. The scheme will be led by subject experts at the School and is leading the Warwick Regional Hub of the National Mathematics and Physics School Centred Initial Teacher Training Scheme (NMAPS).

Successful applicants are eligible to apply for the tax free £26,000 bursary available through the Department for Education or £28,000 scholarship from the Institute of Physics and its Applications.

For trainees who left education some time ago, there are subject knowledge enhancement courses of various lengths available, for which trainees receive payment for completing. Application is through the UCAS website https://find-postgraduate-teacher-training.education.gov.uk/course/2H8/38BB
