Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and inspirational humanities specialist to join the school as a geography teacher. Our humanities department achieves excellent outcomes at both GCSE and A Level. Students hold the subject in high regard, as is demonstrated by the uptake in the Sixth Form. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking geography teacher.

To work at Greensward Academy is to work at a school which puts the child at the centre of everything that they do. If a student's strength lies in academic rigour, they will be challenged. If it lies in sporting prowess they will be developed. If it lies in creative expression, they will be inspired. The opportunity to work alongside engaged, motivated and resilient students, including those in a high performing Sixth Form, is one to be valued.

As a school, we understand the importance of instilling a sense of community into those who pass through our care whilst at the same time ensuring that, when they leave us, they are ready to shape our globalised world. With an emphasis on good manners, tolerance and acceptance, Greensward Academy can be rightfully proud of its students and staff. With our new buildings and open spaces, a dynamic curriculum offering opportunity for all and a pastoral care which sees everyone as an individual, we are confident that we have the right learning environment to ensure our 21st century learners are ready to embrace the challenges of our 21st century world.

Greensward Academy is a part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-Academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfill their real potential.  The Academy is located in Hockley, Essex and has excellent road and rail links.

AET believes that each and every child is inspired to choose a remarkable life.  Our mission is to gather and motivate inspirational people committed to delivering an excellent education that launches children into remarkable lives.

Our values are:

  • Be unusually brave
  • Discover what's possible
  • Push the limits
  • Be big-hearted

We offer:

  • Excellent career prospects across the network, with a culture of looking to promote from within
  • Access to CPD to enable you to grow and development in your role
  • Something we take very seriously is staff WELLBEING. That's why we have partnered up with BHSF to provide support and employee benefits, such as a health cash plan scheme to support healthcare, discounted gym membership and a employee assistance programme
  • The opportunity to use Google Suite, which allows you to do your best work, all in one suit

This position is required to commence after the Easter break

Closing date: Monday 28 January 2019
