Job Description

'Staff morale is high and senior and middle leaders support the academy well' Ofsted 2015

'Pupils learn in a calm working atmosphere in all year groups and classes. They know that they come to the academy to learn and are ready and able to do so' Ofsted 2015

If you want to teach in an academy with pupils who have positive attitudes to learning, supportive leadership and tailored professional learning opportunities then we want to hear from you!

Here at Meadstead Primary Academy we have a special and unique learning community that is proud to serve the village of Royston, and surrounding areas. Our staff commute not just from Barnsley, but from Wakefield, Doncaster, Sheffield and beyond.

The children benefit from the academy having a shared ethos of excellent teaching and learning, a keen focus of improving maths, literacy and life skills across the curriculum and a specialised Resourced Provision that is fully inclusive within the Academy.

As we look to strengthen our teaching team and move our Academy from 'Good' to 'Outstanding'; we are looking to appoint highly motivated teachers to join our happy staff team. As an academy we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere where we work together, support each other and share resources. Whether you are an NQT looking for a supportive department to begin your career, or an experienced teacher looking to develop further in teaching, Meadstead Primary Academy is the place for you. You will also be part of a nationwide Multi Academy Trust.

Through tailored professional learning opportunities we will look to develop you throughout your teaching career. We work closely with our 'Barnsley Primary Hub' with opportunities to shadow and observe best practice with many examples of staff taking advantage of promotion across the Hub and the AET academy network.

We can offer you:

  • Happy, enthusiastic and well behaved children,
  • A leadership team who welcome fresh ideas, traditional values and a sense of teamwork,
  • Well supported teachers who are committed to driving high standards

To arrange a visit please contact Mrs Dalby by calling 01226 722153 or email ddalby@meadsteadprimaryacademy.org.

For an informal conversation you can also contact James Annetts at jannetts@academiesenterprisetrust.org or on 07815545890.

Meadstead Primary Academy is sponsored by Academies Enterprise Trust (AET).

As  the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners - to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme and childcare vouchers.

The date of commencement for this post will be either Easter or September 2017.

Closing date: Monday 26th February 2018

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.  All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.
